About K. G. Interpreter Ltd |
|||
K. G. Interpreter Ltd is the trading name of Karen Green, Sign Language Interpreter. Karen first started to learn British Sign Language (BSL) as an addition to her College Course in 1990. She knew she eventually wanted to work with people and would therefore meet Deaf people so decided to learn BSL. After completing 2 years of part time Sign Language study she embarked on full time training and studied Deaf Studies (Sign Language Interpreting) at Bristol University from 1992-1994. After graduating from University Karen started to work part time as an interpreter whilst working full time at a school for the Deaf. It was during these first years working part time as an interpreter she gained a wealth of experience working with the grass roots Deaf Community. She went on to become a fully qualified interpreter in 2000 and now, as well as working as a self employed interpreter she has her own Sign Language Interpreter booking agency.

As well as working as a community interpreter Karen also works as a conference and performance interpreter. She has interpreted for many different styles of theatre but children and pantomime are among her favourites.
